Savings calculator
How could employee and employer EPF contributions grow?
Project EPF savings after separating the employer contribution between EPF and EPS.
Projected EPF balance
—How it works
The model separates the employer total contribution into EPS and EPF using the editable EPS rate and wage ceiling. Interest is accumulated on the monthly running balance and credited at each year-end; actual passbook timing, exemptions and employer rules can differ.
This result is an educational estimate. Rates, taxes, fees, product rules, and market returns can change.
India-focused guide
Enter your current EPF balance, monthly basic plus DA, contribution rates, EPS wage ceiling, EPF interest and contribution period. The calculator separates the employer EPS allocation from the amount credited to EPF, then estimates yearly interest and the final EPF balance.

Detailed guide
This EPF calculator separates the employee contribution, the employer amount directed to EPF and the employer amount allocated to EPS. It then projects the EPF balance using monthly running balances and annual interest credits.
The employee contribution is added to EPF. The employer total contribution is first calculated from monthly basic wages plus eligible DA, then the entered EPS allocation is deducted. Only the remainder is added to the projected EPF balance.
The default EPS wage ceiling is ₹25,000, reflecting the statutory ceiling announced with effect from 17 September 2026. The fields remain editable because exemptions, higher-wage contributions and establishment-specific treatment can differ.
FormulaMonthly EPF credit = employee contribution + (employer total contribution − employer EPS allocation)
At 12% employee and employer rates, an 8.33% EPS allocation on the ₹25,000 ceiling directs about ₹2,083 a month to EPS. About ₹2,718 of the employer contribution remains for EPF, so the total monthly EPF credit is about ₹7,518.
| Planning item | Estimate |
|---|---|
| Employee EPF contribution | ₹4,800 per month |
| Employer EPS allocation | ₹2,083 per month |
| Employer EPF contribution | ₹2,718 per month |
| New EPF contributions over 20 years | ₹18.04 lakh |
| Projected balance including current ₹3 lakh | ₹58.98 lakh |
The model accumulates interest on the monthly running balance and credits the accumulated interest at each year-end. That is closer to the EPF annual-credit convention than compounding the account every month.
The default 8.25% is the rate shown in official releases at this review date. Future rates can change, so the calculator holds only the rate you enter and does not predict later notifications.
Common questions
Not necessarily. A portion can be allocated to EPS under the applicable rules, with the balance going to EPF. This calculator shows that split explicitly.
No. The EPS allocation is not included in the projected EPF interest-bearing balance on this page. EPS supports a pension benefit under its own rules.
EPF interest is calculated with reference to running balances but credited to the account annually. The calculator accumulates monthly interest and posts it at year-end as a planning approximation.
No. The rate is editable because EPF interest is declared for individual financial years. A long-term projection using one rate is a scenario, not a promise.
